Hi, My name is Sally Delaney. I am married to William Eugene Edward Delaney. He has a brother named Roy William Delaney. My husband and I raised Roys daughters Melissa Ann Delaney, mother of Cyera (pronounced sierra) and Laura Catherine Delaney. Melissa is continuing her college education at Fresno State University. Laura is working her way through school while living in Montana. Laura and Melissa's brother lives in Bakersfield with his wife Brenda and their children Amber and Justin. My husbands father William Eugene Edward Delaney Was born in Illinois and is no longer living. Unfortunately he passed away when his sons were still children so we don't have much information to go on. He had sisters named Isabelle and Alice. We understand that there was also a female child born to him and a girlfriend out of wedlock. Does anyone know who she might be. She would be my husband's older sister. His main connection is to the eastern United States. He lived mostly in Hartford, Connecticut and Illinois. He worked for Nation Lock Company.

Searching for descendants of John Joseph Delaney, born in Cooliney, near Moyne, Co. Tipperary, 1891. His parents were Michael Delaney, a laborer, and Ellen Brennan. John immigrated to NYC Sept 1913 and lived with his uncle, John Delaney, at 33rd St., NYC. The Uncle John Delaney was married to a Mary and had children Martin and Helen. The uncle's arrival was in the 1890s. John Joseph married a Mary Doherty from Limerick sometime between 1913 and 1918. They worked for a time as a chauffer/ cook combination in NJ until John's death from tuberculosis in 1921. There were two children, Michael and Helen. Any info on any branch of this family would be appreciated. Thanks!

Greetings! I write to give anyone interested whatever little information I have on the Delaney name. It originated from the Norman (N. France). The Irish translation is O'Dubhshlaine which is loosely "The son of the Challenger". However, the literal translation is Black (from the Dubh part) and Slaney from the rest of the name. The Slaney is a river flowing through South East Ireland. Incidentally, I lived in the States (Tennessee, New York, S. California) in the 50s - anyone know me?

Hi! I'm looking for my dad's 2 half brothers, lost when the family split up in the early 1920's. Their mother's name waas Della Maude and father was Russell (Adam?) Delaney. The boys would be born early 20's and were named (at that time) Russell Jr. and Edwin. Dad tried to find them but never could. We don't know if they were adopted by someone else as their mother died in 1926 when they were small. Any help out there? All I want is to let them know they had family that was looking for them. Family entered states through Charlotte, NC. Settled in Kentucky. 3rd generation patriarch Benjamin L Delaney, Sr. relocated to Southern Indiana after WWII. My name is Delaney, my father was James Arron Delaney, Son of Joseph Delaney, grandfather was full blood Irish and stood well over 6'7" tall. I have several uncles still living, Ramond,,Thomas, , Benjamin. The whole clan were and still are fighters, in one form or another, my Father was a golden gloves fighter, he had got out of the circle by the time I was born, but I do have paper clippings of some editorials refering to him as the hardist hitting fighter in the state of OK. I know I have some relatives out there that I know nothing about, I would be interested in hearing from some, who believe they may be related. Just recently I have had a very rough go of it, and am on the verge of bankruptcy, due to my wifes illness, and losing a job, I am not out, but am very down. This may help me get back on my feet again. Kinda depressing, well I have been down before and came back, just never this low. Dad: Thomas Delaney of NYC My favorite comedian GROUCHO MARX used the name DELANEY as a made up name over 10 times in his hilarious autobiography "GROUCHO & ME" when he needed a name for someone from his past. I am searching for the IRISH roots of my GGG Grandfather Jeremiah Delaney. He was born somewhere in Ireland in the early 1800's and was married to Anne Maxwell who also was born somewhere in Ireland (possibly in County Cork). Jeremiah and Anne came to the USA in about 1833 and settled first in Flushing, Queens county and later in Brooklyn, Kings county, New York with their two children, John (born 1828) and Elizabeth (born 1829). They had three more children in the US, Ann, Kate and Mary. Their oldest son John Delaney married Mary R. Cunningham who was born somewhere in Ireland in 1830. John and Mary re-settled in Newark Valley, Tioga county, New York sometime in the late 1860's. They had 11 children, Mary, Jeremiah, David, Ellen, Elizabeth, Michael, Kate, John, Anne, James and William. I am trying to find the link back home to Ireland from my Delaney roots. What I know is that my GGGrandfather was William Delaney who came to the US and settled in New York (near the Canada/Vermont Border)sometime between 1850 and 1857, he was born in 1830. Hi Delaney's ! I'm from Cork (Ireland) currently living in Munich, Germany. I've got a coat of arms with the two red fields and white in the middle with the three fish but also with the inscription "Depressus Tamen Extoller". My latin from school doesn't stretch that far (anyone else ??). Either that or it's the name of the fish........

Greetings from the Delaney´s in Buenos Aires, Argentina My great grandparent Joseph emigrated from Ireland (Longford) and had two brothers who emigrated to the USA. Anyone related???
